April 2024 Newsletter
Last December, students and OM Doulos Hope Challenge team have prepared Christmas concert and shared the joy of the birth of Jesus with the parents
We give all the glory to God, the ultimate head of the school, as we witness the school growing significantly each year even though there are still many areas that need to be developed. This has been made possible by your generous donations and prayers. We recognize the complete grace of God the Father, who makes everything work together to accomplish good, and we praise His faithfulness. Through HIS School, we hope to spread the gospel and see only his name exalted.
The students visited the Doulos Hope mission ship docked in Cambodia and had a one-day missionary experience by worshiping with missionaries, visiting a book exhibition hall, playing games, and eating meals.
Prayer points from the Elementary department
- The period with the highest average temperature in Cambodia is from March to May. During this time, Cambodia celebrates its major festival, Khmer New Year. On this occasion, Cambodians return to their hometowns to celebrate the New Year with their families and relatives. Schools also observe this period by offering Easter break and a short vacation. Due to the population migration, accidents tend to increase, so we pray that all students can stay safe and return to school safely.
Kindergarten students spent a happy time with YWAM team of the United States participating in various activities.
- May teachers, who care for and educate their students, be respected by parents. Likewise, may teachers cherish and love the students entrusted to them, building trust with parents, and may the school and parents work together as partners to establish the school to be pleasing to God.
- We are thankful for the recruitment of class teachers and assistant teachers, and we ask for provision for training programs for them. May suitable times for regular teacher training be arranged, and may native English speaking missionary teachers be sent to the school for better English education.
- A teacher named Vichai is facing difficulties regarding student guidance. We pray to God the Father, who is righteous and just, to relieve the injustice faced by the struggling teacher Vichai and to fill them with protection so that teachers, students, and parents can serve together with honesty and trust
We held an Easter service to commemorate the resurrection and give thanks to Jesus.
Prayer points from the Kindergarten department
- Kindergarten students and teachers are suffering from the sweltering heat and high humidity, with a perceived temperature exceeding 47 degrees Celsius. May they withstand the heat well and be able to maintain good health.
- Srey Mao has joined as the new kindergarten homeroom teacher along with assistant teacher Sokeam. May they love the children with the love of the Lord and care for them with warm hearts. Together with senior teacher Ccanna and headteachers Shopa and Thary, may they cooperate to learn their roles as good teachers, teaching and nurturing the children well.
We dressed up in Cambodian New Year costumes and experienced traditional cultural plays and games.
- Cambodia's average population age continues to decrease, with the average age being 27 years old. With a high proportion of young parents, who are highly interested in and demand various aspects of their children's education, may the children come to know God rightly and grow up as wise children who overcome the world through the Christian education curriculum from an early age.
- Education on raising children for working parents leading busy lives is urgently needed. In this barren land of parental education, through regular consultations and parental education with parents through HIS International School, may kindergarten and home education be properly and seamlessly linked to produce children with healthy emotions and character.
Medical team from Singapore and Australia visit twice a year to regularly check students' health.
School Construction
- We continue to pray that the construction would be completed according to God's timing and His ways. We look to the Lord to provide for the needs of electrical, water, plumbing, drainage, and civil engineering works.
"But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus."
2 Timothy 3:14-15
- Please pray that the students would grow in knowledge and truth through the teachers and missionaries they meet at the school. Please pray that their ways of life would be based on the Word of God, that they would be equipped to lead the nation according to the ways of God. We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to all of you that are contributing to this work in various ways.
This is the school construction site where progress is being made little by little with grace.
