May 2021 Newsletter
Greetings to you in the name of Jesus!
The Cambodian government has completely blocked Phnom Penh, and the Tahmao area, where His International School is located, since mid-April, due to the increasing number of corona19 confirmed patients every day. The school had been holding online classes due to a school closure order issued in mid-February, but teachers are unable to even go to work now due to regional blockades. The blockade is now partially lifted, but we are still cautious to meet teachers on campus. Please keep us in your prayer so that we could overcome this difficult time well through the wisdom and strength from our Lord.
Teachers participating in online seminar
Teachers participated in online seminars even during the blockade. Through this seminar, teachers had the opportunity to have thorough study on the contents that were difficult to think about through “The Importance of Christian Education” and “Brain Development and Early Childhood Education”. Praise the Lord for guiding teachers to be prepared in a variety of ways even in situations where everything has stopped.
- Even in situations where teachers cannot meet students, we pray that this time would be spent productively through learning and researching opportunities.
- Visual classes are held through telegrams and videos every day for each grade level. We pray for students to learn what they need to learn and diligently stay on tasks to be able to turn in their works when the school meets back on campus.
- The number of corona confirmed cases is increasing rapidly around the school. We pray for the safety of the management staff who continue to work on quarantine in the empty campus. - We are grateful for missionary Eunhee Yang, who will return to the school ministry, and pray for her smooth re-settlement in Cambodia.
- We pray for the smooth entry of teachers Julianne and Kathie, who are preparing to join the school ministry from the United States.
- We pray for God’s protection and guidance over all the students, teachers and missionaries during this time of social distancing and hope for a healthy reunion when we can all meet back on campus.
