September 2023 Newsletter
HIS Child is continuously caring for children in crisis untilthey become healthy members of society. It may take time, but we are patient and gratefulto all of you who serve as channels of love and the gospel, helping these children grow as God’s children and furthermore, as His disciples expanding His Kingdom. We pray that we can continue to be spiritual parents to these children and together, we seek the guidance of our Heavenly Father.
Mobile Drop-in Center
The impoverished areas between downtown skyscrapers get submerged in water throughout the rainy season due to their low elevation. Children in these areas, where hygiene conditions are poor due to the mixture of filth and garbage, live a nomadic life under bridges, following their homeless parents until the end of the rainy season (late November). It breaks our hearts to see these children, who find it difficult to escape from the harsh street life, still giving us bright smiles every time they meet us.
Prayer request:
- Homeless children begging from vehicles waiting at traffic signals in the middle of the road are exposed to various dangers. When heavy rain falls and visibility is reduced, their safety is even more threatened. Please pray for their safety and health.
- Through our bus ministry, we meet with these children every week, becoming their friends. We provide literacy education, hygiene education, share Bible stories, and hold worship services. Due to extreme poverty, we are praying for the grace of the Lord to allow us to find sponsors who can contribute 10,000 won ($10) each month to supply milk, bread, school supplies, and underwear for these children.
Children Center
The children's center is also facing difficulties due to flooding. While we are somewhat accustomed to the challenges we face during the rainy season, we are focusing on disease prevention because various infectious diseases often occur after the floodwaters recede. We are thankful that the children living at the center are generally healthy. However, there are children who have lost their parents due to COVID-19 over the past three years, waiting to enter an orphanage. Due to a shortage of facilities, we need wisdom to prioritize rescuing children who are in urgent need of help.
Prayer Request:
- We pray that, by the grace of our Heavenly Father, the children can grow up in a safe environment, knowing the Lord of salvation, and experiencing healing love for their wounded and abandoned hearts. We also pray for a sponsor who can provide a monthly food allowance of 30,000 won for one child, so that they can grow up healthily within the Christian community.
- Please pray for Srinet to do her best as she prepares for the 12th-grade exams in early November, to graduate from high school. Please also pray that God would provide tuition fees for Srinetbin, Riheng, Banna, and Roat, who are currently attending university, so that they can become little disciples of Jesus and make a difference in the world. Please keep them in your prayers.
