May 2022 Newsletter
With the belief that “all children are precious and valuable regardless of their origin, gender, religion and health as they are created in the image of God” HISCHILD has been caring for orphans, homeless children, and children at risk due to poverty since 1995. Many of those who have grown up through the ministry of the HISCHILD are now young adults and have a variety of roles in society. Seeing them forming a family and worshiping with their children, the grace of God who not only fed and clothed them at the right time, but also raised them into the children of the Lord, is overwhelming. I hope that they will be able to live the life of discipleship of Jesus in the world, believing in God who is the true Lord of their lives and who is always with them.
Children Center
• Please pray that the children new to the orphanage would adjust well to the community life, that their abandoned hearts would be restored and that they would realize and know their identity as children of the Lord, and that the supervising couple would be able to raise the teenagers entering adolescence with more love and patience.
• An increasing number of middle and high school students who are addicted to drugs even in public schools are becoming a social problem. Our youth are also exposed to such an environment, so please pray that the Holy Spirit would give them the spirit of discernment so that they could resist all temptations.
• Please pray for the health of our children and for the protection from the virus.
• Please pray that the process of re-registration of NGOs (Ministry of Social Welfare, Ministry of Child Welfare, Ministry of Foreign Affairs), which is applied every three years, goes smoothly.
Mobile Drop in Center
• We are preparing to meet with homeless children and children from slum areas on a weekly basis. In the midst of the corona crisis, it is not yet safe, but children who have been neglected for more than two years can no longer be left unattended.
Please pray for the continual protection of our staff and volunteers from the virus, and that they would be able to meet children on the streets with the wisdom and power that the Lord has given them.
• As Cambodia is developing economically, there are many changes in many ways, but the lives of the homeless have not changed.
Exposed to the dangers of street life, drug addiction and prostitution, we see teenagers mimicking their parents' lives, leaving three or four generations homeless. Pray that they will be comforted by the grace of Heavenly Father, who has compassion and mercy on those who are living a barren life in the bondage of poverty passed down through generations, and pray that they will realize the faithful love of the Lord who does not give up.
